A game produced from the catalogue
Eight steps, from authorised sources to ready-to-play cards
Public examples use the fictional Bellanger family. In a real family, the catalogue stays private and includes only sources that meet the quiz’s visibility and usage rules.
Prepare, check, print
Organiser: prepare and check questions
Each card needs one correct answer and three other valid answers. A family with little information may not have enough sources to produce cards.
Participant: go to downloading and printing-
01
Check usable information
Places, pets, life experiences and anecdotes must be marked “Quiz allowed”. Genealogical sources and proposed answers must be visible to the whole family; death data is excluded.
-
02
Complete useful memories
Add a precise piece of information to the relevant profile, such as a former place of residence or a short anecdote. Avoid ambiguous wording, sensitive data and memories someone does not want used in the game.
-
03
Synchronise catalogue
An owner or administrator opens “Quiz catalogue” in family administration, then starts synchronisation. New questions are added, changed sources are updated and those no longer eligible are removed.
-
04
Understand the four levels and review questions
Each source determines a level: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 or Legendary. This classification helps mix direct facts, less immediate memories and more demanding relationships. In the catalogue table, use search and theme, difficulty and status filters to check the question, four choices, correct answer and source label.
-
05
Remove an unsuitable source
Correct the original information, disable “Quiz allowed” for a memory or adjust its visibility where appropriate, then have an administrator update the catalogue. A source that becomes ineligible is already excluded from viewing and downloading without waiting for that update. Downloaded PDFs and distributed cards cannot be withdrawn remotely.
Participant: download, print and play
Downloading is available to active members. You do not need to administer the family to print the game.
-
06
Download complete PDF
From the “Family quiz” page, an active member downloads all active questions. The download offers no card count, themes or question-by-question selection.
-
07
Print and cut out the cards
Choose A4 portrait, 100% scale, double-sided printing and long-edge binding. Sheets alternate fronts and backs to align the common back. Each page contains nine 56 × 88 mm cards: cut along the frames, keeping the white spaces; the solution remains printed in small, upside-down text at the bottom of the front.
-
08
Play during a meal or family reunion
Mix the four levels, read the question and four answers, then turn or tilt the card to check the solution. In the browser, cards are directly playable. “Start again” reloads the questions and returns you to the cards. The displayed score applies to the current game in this tab: it resets if you restart the game or reload the page, with no score history provided.
Limits to know
The catalogue prioritises consistency and privacy
- No manual creation or rewriting of questions.
- No individual card selection in the complete PDF.
- No online multiplayer game: the product generates a printable game.
