Before writing

Gather the essential information

An invitation can stay short if it clearly states what is decided and how to reply. If the exact location is not yet confirmed, say so instead of circulating a provisional address.

  • Date, times and any welcome time.
  • Confirmed location or stated deadline for announcing it.
  • People covered by the invitation: partner, children or accompanying guest.
  • Reply deadline and expected reply method.
  • Questions actually needed for organisation.

Seven templates to personalise

Choose a tone, then replace the relevant fields

Before sending through Cœur de Famille, check that the recipient has active family access, a verified email address and the permissions required by the event audience. Inviting a relative to join the family and inviting them to the event are separate steps.

Copy your chosen template, then replace the fields in brackets. For [event link], use the event page’s address. The recipient signs in with their invited account and opens “My participation” to reply while the reply period is open. The link grants no additional rights. No real names, addresses or links are used in these examples.

Warm template

Let’s meet on [date] at [location] to share our news and memories! Sign in with your Cœur de Famille account and reply by [deadline] through the event: [event link]. Please specify the adults and children covered by your invitation. We look forward to seeing you!

Simple template

The family reunion will take place on [date], from [start time] to [end time], at [location]. Sign in with your Cœur de Famille account and reply by [deadline] through the event: [event link]. All practical information is gathered there.

Humorous template

The debate over the family’s best tart can wait: let’s meet on [date] at [location]! Sign in with your Cœur de Famille account and tell us how many chairs to prepare by [deadline], through the event: [event link].

A truly informal message

Hi everyone! Shall we meet on [date] at [location]? Sign in with your Cœur de Famille account and let us know by [deadline] whether you’ll be there, through the event: [event link]. We can’t wait to see you!

Very large family

A useful reply

State precisely what the organiser needs

In Cœur de Famille, an invited person can reply yes, no or maybe, specify the number of adults and children, add a message and answer prepared questions. The invitation text should mention fields that have a practical consequence.

Reply deadlineGive a specific day and briefly explain why replies are needed.
Event accessProvide the event link and ask guests to sign in with their invited account. Family access and event permissions are still required.
Number of peopleSpecify which adults and children are covered by the individual invitation.
QuestionsLimit requests to useful information shared voluntarily.

Short reminder

Do not resend the whole invitation

A reminder repeats the deadline and event link. Recipients find their invitation by signing in with their account; they do not need a new individual link. People who have already replied do not need the same message again.

Reminder template

A quick reminder about the family reunion on [date]: sign in with your Cœur de Famille account and reply by [deadline] through the event: [event link]. Still unsure? Choose “maybe” to let us know.

What to leave out

Do not copy replies, contact details or personal needs already shared by other guests into a group message.

Prepare the event before sending

Confirm the date, location and invitation rule, then create the family event that will collect replies.
